The Chapel at Mandalay Bay: B-

The chapel itself is absolutely beautiful and modern looking.  We went on a scouting mission to see some of the chapels before we got married and saw some scary stuff.  The Chapel at Mandalay Bay was the most modern and looked the least like a funeral home.  Many of the guests commented after at how surprised they were with how nice the chapel was as they expected a tacky chapel.  I gave them just a B-because I wasn't happy with my coordinator, Mischelle.  I called her just once during my year of planning, about a month and a half before the wedding.  She seemed bothered and iritated by my call.  When we arrived in Vegas, we decided to pop in and check in with Mischelle.  Thank god we did!  She had us down for the wrong time!  Fortunately, we were able to correct the time and the wedding went off without a hitch.  They are a well-oiled machine and the ceremony went great.

I was very pleasantly suprised at how nice our pictures came out. They were all ready the next day and we were told that 12 came with our package or we could get a package deal with all the pictures and the rights to the pictures.  Holy crap was it expensive!  We were going to get just the 12 but then the whole "well you only get married once" mentality kicked in.   But I'm so glad we got them.  They came out great and we'll have them to look back on for the rest our lives.

Four Seasons Hotel: A+

When doing my research, this was my dream location but felt it was way out of my league.  I sent an email to them with my very small budget and to my surprise, they were very willing to work with us and suggested we do a lunch reception.  I worked with Dennis Silknitter, who always answered questions right away and was professional. He even set up the room in the morning, so I didn't have to worry about a thing. We got a 3 course plated lunch, including cake as well as 3 appetizers and an open bar.  I had sent Dennis some pictures of what I was hoping for and expected 3 layers.  I was completely blown away when I saw an awesome cake with 4 layers!   The food was great and the service could not be beat!  We had our reception in the lovely Mesquite Room, which was small and intimate and we felt that we could spend time with all of our guests.  It also had a wonderful balcony, which people loved.   So in total, we had 3 appetizers, 3 course meal including a four tiered cake, open bar with premium liquor, set up, linens, chairs, votives, place card holders, taxes, services fees.....all for UNDER $8,000.00.  HELLO!

Another great vendor here.  Todd was a great guy, professional, and on-time.  He took some great pictures of us and lots a great candid pictures of our guests.  We got about 9 hundred pictures back as well as the rights to them for such a great a price as well as quality.  He was completely non-invasive and I don't even remember seeing him half the time, yet he certainly captured the day.

Makeup in the 702: A-

I was very pleased with how my hair and makeup came out for the wedding.  It was so pamering to have two people working on me at once!  I loved it!  Megan, the owner is incredibly nice and THE BEST at following up.  Not only was she was very good at answering emails, SHE would often send them out to check in or follow up.  On the day of the wedding she sent a text congratulating me and wished me well.  She then followed up again for pictures and asked me how the wedding went.  She was great.  They are very expensive but I feel totally worth it as this is such an important day.

An Octopus's Garden: A-

So one of the biggest stressors I had with planning the wedding was figuring out what to do for centerpieces.  I wanted something nice but I didn't want to spend a ton of money for flowers.  I also didn't want to do a DIY project and have to worry about setting up the night before and I certainly didn't have time to do it in the morning. So I emailed Timi at An Octopus's Garden with a budget of $500.00 and was surprised to find she willing to work with me.  I should also note that we were married on a Thursday afternoon, which I'm sure helped our budget.  She created great centerpieces for the wedding and I was pleasantly surprised.  At times, it did take her awhile to return emails but other than that, she was really great.

DJ Mike Fox:  A+

This was probably one of the best decisions I made.  We were going to have an Ipod wedding but found out we needed to rent speakers for around $300.00.  So we decided against that and went with a DJ.  I didn't find a lot of reviews for him but he was a preferred vendor of the Four Seasons.  So I took a risk and went with him. I'm so glad we did because I honestly didn't worry about a thing all day long.  I gave Mike our playlist we created for the Ipod wedding and he played a ton of songs from our list.  He was funny but non-intrusive at the same time.  He knew how to get people up and dancing and was so fantastic.  I highly recommend him!
